Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR baro aimed at the outdoor adventurer

Suunto has added a new GPS sports and fitness watch to the Spartan series in the form of the Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro. As you can imagine with the name the new Spartan Sport is aimed at the outdoor adventure folk’s which need correct altitude readings.

Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro features

The new Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro uses Suunto’s FusedAlti™ technology, combining GPS and barometric data for more precise altitude information. The Spartan Sport Baro will also display sunrise & sunset times, and gives storm alarms when a sudden drop in air pressure occurs which again is something that will be useful to the outdoor adventure types. The Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro uses GPS/GLONASS to accurately track speed, pace, and distance. The new Spartan Sport also features wrist HR technology by industry leader Valencell to monitor heart rate.

In addition to all of this the Spartan will track Daily activities includes steps and calories and the minimum heart rate during a 12-hour period. The battery life on the Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro offers up to 10 hours of battery life and 40 hours of battery life with 1-minute GPS fix and power-saving options. It will also track 80 sports activities with cycling, running, swimming, hiking, skiing and many others including cardio and indoor activities.

Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR Baro Design

The Spartan Sport Baro will also feature a circular watch design looking similar to the Spartan Sport Wrist HR and will be available in three colours with a steel bezel, touchscreen display made of mineral glass and a Glass fibre reinforced polyamide body. The strap will be made of silicon and will be user replaceable.
