More details on the Garmin Fenix 6 Series

It looks like the Garmin Fenix 6 is close to launch with more details and images emerging regarding the new wearable. It also looks like I was wrong on the Pro version with a different source providing detailed information this morning.

But as always without the without having an official press release by Garmin, all of this could be wrong, but I am pretty confident it’s not.

High-level summary

It looks like the Fenix 6 series will come in 3 top line models as with the Fênix 5 Series. The 6s, 6 and the 6x with 19 variants. Each of these 19 variants will come in a different colour for both bands/case/bezels. The Fenix 6s and 6 will feature a standard, Pro and Sapphire model with the Fenix 6x coming in Pro, Sapphire and Sapphire Solar.

While I have received a number of new images this morning. Over at appelmoessite, he claims to have over 200 pictures and the information matches what I got this morning for models variants on his article.

Some details that I have already confirmed on the this post. The Fenix 6 that it will receive the Sony GPS chipset. It will also feature the new ELEVATE oHR sensor found in the Forerunner 945.

Got all that? If not, then read on for some detailed specs.

Release date

The sources that supplied the information above,  suggested to me this morning that Garmin could announce the Fenix 6 series next week. The first reason is to avoid IFA, but the likely reason is due to the amount of leaks appearing. This information is also reported by The5KRunner who I consider a highly reliable source of information.

    • In short no, I received a number of details yesterday morning to make this article. If you also check the facts, some of those specs I have been quoting for weeks now. If you also look this site does not have the same detail and has different detail compared to this article. Finally, the article contradicts itself in the final section as this is an article that has been getting updated without resetting the date, so we are unsure when anything was on that page.
