Whilst Apple has not released AirPlay 2 with the HomePod at the time of writing this Article, which allows you to stream music to multiple audio speakers. Apple is still allowing you to stream music to the HomePod via airplay and this is how you get Spotify music to play via the smart speaker. However, you need to note that streaming any music service such as Spotify, Pandora or iHeartRadio via Airplay will not allow you to use Siri like you can with Apple Music. So if you are wanting to use the power of Siri to play your favourite music track then you are best off sticking with Apples own streaming service which is a great service and well worth checking out.

Please note that this method will work with any App that supports Airplay on an iPhone, iPad or other compatible Apple Product
- Download a compatible App that supports AirPlay onto your Apple device like Spotify or Pandora.
- Select the AirPlay output you want to stream to, in this case, choose HomePod
- Play the music, that’s it… simple
