Google released an update to the Google Home app for iOS to better support smart home devices bringing them into one easy to access simple view, alongside the unveiling a new Google Home Hub yesterday.

With the Google Home app, set up, manage and control your Google Home and Chromecast devices, plus thousands of connected home products like lights, cameras, thermostats and more – all from one app.

When I first reviewed the Google Home and the Google Home app, one thing that stood out was the inability to control smart home devices within the app, but this has now been addressed.Google Home smart devices

With the new Google Home app, you can now control, organize and manage compatible lights, cameras, TVs and more, all from just one place.

Google has placed all smart home devices in one simple view, which allows you to interact and control all the connected smart home devices within your network just like you can with the HomeKit app.

You can now use shortcuts for the things you do most, like turning on and off the lights or playing music. This is similar to Siri shortcuts within iOS.Google Home App

The final piece is the ability to check up on your home when you’re away or use it as a remote for your Google Home, Chromecast and other devices.
