Garmin Vivoactive 4 coming at CES 2019
We know something is coming from Garmin at CES 2019 based on the FCC filing and the interweb has been speculating what this mystery device could be and whilst some think it may be a Vivoactive 3 Plus, I am suggesting it could be a Vivoactive 4.
Before we get started on the reasons for calling the Vivoactive 4 being launched at CES 2019, I want to be 100% clear that this is based on opinion and the only thing that is certain and based on the FCC filing is that a new Garmin wearable is coming at CES 2019.
So why is it a Vivoactive 4.
As I have pointed out this is 90% opinion with about 10% information received that it will be a Vivoactive 4 and this is why;
- The Vivoactive 3 launched back in September 2017 and the Vivoactive 3 music then arrived in June 2018, this was Garmin’s ideal time to name it the Vivoactive 3 Plus.
- Information revealed in this FCC filing suggests that the new Garmin Wearable will have LTE support. If the LTE feature is correct then this would be a step change and in my view, it would warrant more than “Plus” naming.
- This one is a reaching statement, so bear with me. CES is a huge event (you may know this) so why would Garmin just launch a Plus model with a big step change like LTE? Music was a good enough reason to call it ‘Plus’
Ok, so whilst it’s entirely possible that Garmin will launch a Vivoactive 3 Plus at CES 2019. If they followed logic and wanted to have more of a marketing impact, going with Vivoactive 4 would be better, well that is my opinion anyway.
As I said at the beginning of this article this is an opinion and whilst I would name it the Vivoactive 4, I do have part of me that believes that Garmin will go with the Vivoactive 3 Plus.
So what do you think? Do you think we will see a Vivoactive 4 or will it be a Vivoactive 3 Plus at CES 2019?
