Measure your oxygen saturation with the Garmin Fenix 5x Plus with PulseOX
Now details have started to be leaked on the new Garmin Fenix 5 Plus line up, the latest leak is that the Garmin Fenix 5x Plus will feature oxygen saturation calculation or PulseOX
When we first heard about the new Garmin Fenix 5 Plus line up and the inclusion of Topo mapping to all the devices, I did question if the Fenix 5x Plus would be released and it would appear that the PulseOX will be the killer Fenix 5x Plus feature.
What is PulseOX – Oxygen saturation calculation
Pulse oximetry is a noninvasive method for monitoring a person’s oxygen saturation(SO2). Though its reading of SpO2 (peripheral oxygen saturation) is not always identical to the more desirable reading of SaO2 (arterial oxygen saturation) from arterial blood gasanalysis, the two are correlated well enough that the safe, convenient, noninvasive, inexpensive pulse oximetry method is valuable for measuring oxygen saturation in clinicaluse.
