Top tip – When choosing a watch face for the Garmin Fenix 5, 5s and 5x try to find one with very little animation. Watch faces with little animation will not drain the battery due to not having to fire up electrodes in the screen.

Garmin Fenix 5 watch face – Standard

The Garmin Fenix 5 series comes with preloaded watch faces and this is the best out of them in my opinion. It’s a solid watch face with the following customisation

  • Customise dial and hands
  • Customise colours
  • 4 data fields to choose from

Speaking of the data fields and what you can show, here is the full list

  • Date
  • Steps
  • Calories burnt
  • Stairs climbed
  • Activity minutes (week)
  • Battery
  • Sunset
  • Altitude
  • Barometer
  • Calendar
  • Notifications

Whilst the Garmin Fenix 5 standard watch faces might not be the most complicated in terms of features, it does a great job at presenting the data well in a simple format.

The next Garmin Fenix 5 watch faces is from NoFrills. I choose this watch face as it is a simple design and helps with the battery on the Fenix 5 series. 1. Hey there. I love the SC8 as well! However, have you figured out how to configure the new weather option? It says you need a code and I’ve tried an API from Weather Underground but that didn’t seem to work. Have you used this feature yet?

      • Hi,
Apologies for resurrecting this question, but I was curious if you had found a way to configure the weather data field. I have emailed the developer, but he has not replied yet.

    • Hi. Thanks for the comments. You need to edit them in Garmin Connect Mobile under the watch face settings

      Open Garmin Connect
      More
      Garmin Devices
      Choose the Fenix 5
      Connect IQ Apps menu

Choose the one you want to edit
