Garmin Fenix 5 and Forerunner 935 will get stress and rep tracking

It has been a busy week for Garmin at the IFA, they have announced a whole host of new devices including the Vivoactive, Edge 1030 and many others. In addition to this Garmin have announced that Fenix 5 and Forerunner 935 owners are going to be getting Stress and rep counting later this month

A software update is going to be coming later in September that’ll bring the stress tracking and strength training features that come with the Garmin Vivosmart 3. So if you have any of the Fenix 5 series watches or the 935, you will be able to use the stress tracking capabilities and use the breathing timer. It also means you’ll be able to track reps and sets along with rest times when you hit the gym. The Rep tracking in the Garmin Vivosmart 3 was hit and miss so I hope they have improved it.

Another new feature is the cardio activity fitness profile, which will now track HIIT training and when you are taking part other cardio classes. You will also be able to create cardio workouts in the Garmin connect app and I suspect this feature is on the back of the ability to create courses for the Garmin Edge 1030

But can this watch track things like horse riding, yoga and pilates. I know my Polar has a raft of sports to choose from. Love the look of the Garmin but don’t want to lose all the different sports I track
