Garmin released the Descent MK1 Dive computer last in 2017 and now they launching Garmin Dive app. You can sign up to be a beta tester of the Garmin Dive app for both Android and iOS devices.
The Dive app is about to enter public Beta stage, but anyone can register to test it out. After you have paired it with your Descent dive watch, you can then analyse your dives just like you would any workout. The app will show detail like ascent time, max ascent rate, max depth, bottom time, surface entry, exit points and much more.
Besides logging dives, you can also search for new diving locations. The search feature allows you to search by dive type and chose a place based on its popularity. Which is like Trendline routing found on Garmin fitness watches such as the Fenix 6? When searching for the perfect dive spot you can checkout reviews and logs from other divers.
This is an interesting move by Garmin and given the Decent MK1 launched at the back end of 2017. We could see a updated version coming in 2020 along with improved hardware
So if you want to sign up to the Beta, head over to Garmin and download the Dive app. Don’t forget to subscribe for more Garmin news. If you have a question or a comment, then leave it below. You can also follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
