Garmin Fenix 5 Plus pay confirmed

Garmin Fenix 5 Plus confirmed by Garmin to support Garmin Pay

The Garmin Fenix 5 Plus details were leaked at the weekend via a Reddit post and now Garmin has confirmed the existence of the Garmin Fenix 5 Plus via there own website. (Garmin has since removed the Fenix 5 Plus references and images)

It is not very often that a company like Garmin will confirm a product before it is launched, but it would appear that the company has done just that on their Garmin Pay information page and it would appear that all 3 models, Fenix 5 Plus, Fenix 5s Plus and the Fenix 5x Plus have been revealed on the Garmin Pay information page

Garmin Fenix 5 Plus models confirmed

Garmin has confirmed that the Garmin Fenix 5 Plus is real and the Fenix 5 Plus line up will officially come in 3 models. These models are The Fenix 5 Plus, The Fenix 5s Plus and the Fenix 5x Plus confirmed with the writing below and the Garmin Fenix 5x Plus picture.

Details in the images

The pictures that appear on the Garmin Pay page, clearly show all 3 models of the Fenix 5 Plus range.

Fenix 5x Plus

The first is the image of the Fenix 5x Plus, this image tell’s us that the Fenix 5x Plus will come with a stainless steel bezel with stainless steel buttons. It will feature QuickFit bands (that orange band) and as the image suggests Garmin Pay. Looking at the image it would appear the Fenix 5x Plus will look very similar to the previous model, the Fenix 5xGarmin Fenix 5x Plus

This image does not give much away due to the Fenix 5 Plus sharing the picture with the Forerunner 645 Music and the Vivoactive 3 Music, however, it would appear that the Fenix 5 Plus will feature a stainless steel bezel and I suspect stainless steel buttons. Again the Fenix 5 Plus is similar to the previous gen model.

Garmin Fenix 5s Plus

The most striking of the 3 images leaked is the Garmin Fenix 5s Plus. Whilst the design as not changed much, you can see small differences on the Bezel when you compare it to the Fenix 5s previous gen. You will also notice the button housing that surrounds the stainless steel buttons on the Fenix 5s Plus. It also looks like this is a premium version of the Fenix 5s Plus with a leather band.Garmin Fenix 5s Plus

Fenix 5 Plus is imminent for release

Whilst the Garmin Pay page could be a page update pushed by accident following the launched of the Vivoactive 3 music, I would suggest the Fenix 5 Plus announcement is imminent and this is down to the number of leaks of the Plus models over the week and this may have forced Garmin’s hand.

  1. You can still get to see this thanks to google cached searches. Just had a look myself and can confirm the images in this article were on the Garmin pay page yesterday.

    • Yes Ian, its been interesting to watch this page change since last night. Last night all the images appeared, then around mid-morning GMT references to the Fenix 5 PLus disappeared along with the image of the Fenix 5x Plus, then mid-afternoon the image with the Fenix 5 Plus, FR645 and the VA3 Music and the single image of the Fenix 5s Plus all went.

      • If they can keep the price of the 5 plus at around £550 or less I could be tempted. Some how I think it will be £600+

        • I suspect the price will be in the region of 550 to 600 when converted to UK prices. The normal fenix 5 Plus will also include maps, but you may not want these
