Derwent walk via Ladybower dam – Peak District – United Kingdom

This is a 9 mile walk starting at Ladybower and up towards Win hill along Hope brink. The walk takes you through hope cross and through Woodlands Valley. Once you take the short walk on the road and cross you are then heading towards crook hill and back into Ladybower.

  • Start/finish Free parking on the main road just down from the entrance to the Ladybower dam
  • Dog friendliness Walk is on farmland and access agreement land. Dogs should be kept on leads.

Notes

  • As you exit Woodlands valley you will come across a main road and need to walk down this to get to the next part of the route.

Ladybower peak district

The Walk around Derwent and Ladybower

The walk starts at the free parking and you turn left onto the dam. Follow the route up to Win hill passing woodland and great views of Ladybower

You then walk along Hope brink and take in stunning views of Loose hill, Hollins cross and Mam tor in the distance and then ahead across to Woodland Valley.

Once you have navigated the main road you cross over and head towards Crook Hill and again take in some amazing views of the dam before you head back down and over the bridges back to the free car parking area. There is plenty of pubs around the area that you can have an excellent meal, try the bridge inn near the parking or the Ladybowerinn further up the road
