As reported back in January, AVIA, the first multi-point smart lock that supports HomeKit will launch 21st May at Fitshow UK. The AVIA smart lock works as part of the home’s existing HomeKit network. Which means you can use an iPhone, iPad, and the Apple Watch to control the lock.
The choice of smart locks on the market that support HomeKit are currently limited to deadbolt mechanisms. However the AVIA smart lock will support multi-point locking systems. In the UK and Europe, you will find a multi-point locking system, in most UPVC and composite doors.
Aswell as controlling the AVIA smart lock via HomeKit. Users will also be able to buy optional accessories to interact with the lock. These include a key fob, a keypad for code-based entry, and a mechanical key override.
Pricing is unknown for the AVIA smart lock, but I am told it will be “inline with competitor products.” But we only have a few weeks to wait to find out the pricing and once I get my hands on one, I will post an AVIA smart lock review.
