Adobe have updated the iota Home Security System with Apple HomeKit support. Starting today, abode-branded door/window sensors, occupancy sensor and motion sensors purchased after December 2018 will work with HomeKit.
Abode says additional devices and sensors are being worked on to for HomeKit support, but no ifnroamtion on timing. These devices include the Gen 2 and Gen 1 gateways,
The system’s HomeKit integration supports the ability to arm or disarm the system and motion events triggered by abode motion sensors. You can also make use of the door/window sensors to trigger open/close events triggered by abode.
Following the firmware update, Users can quickly and easily access live video from iota’s built-in streaming camera. You can do this right through the Home app and ask Siri for the status of their system. The update does not include support for HomeKit Secure video at present.
To install the update, make sure you are running the latest version of abode’s iOS app. Then when prompted follow the update instruction. Once updated navigate to settings within the app to generate a HomeKit code for use within the Home app.
